For leaders, there is a year-long programme of Centenary activities for the weekly Section programme, supplemented by a full colour booklet for every Section. There are numerous Centenary events throughout 2007. Each month has a theme relating to Centenary events, look at the calendar below and use the links above to find out more about District activties.

24 February: Chelmsford District Centenary Ball, Shire Hall (Leaders & Supporters Social). Dinner and dancing to the highly acclaimed Julie Cooper Band.

21/22 April: Scouts Help The Planet - Eden Project
24/28 April: Chelmsford's 50th Gangshow - Celebrating 75 years of Gangshows in the 100th Year of Scouting!
25/27 May: Centenary Camps - Group / District camps, aiming to get as many UK Scouts under canvas at the same time. Theme of ''Past, Present and Future''. Presents an opportunity to build local awareness and help recruitment.
16/17 June: Cubs & Beavers Fun Days
23 June: MegaGig - Rock concert, exclusive to Scouting
7 July: Gilwell 24 - Explorers
14 July/14 October 2007: A Centenary of Scouting - An exhibition showing how scouting developed and continues to provide an everyday adventure for millions of young people throughout Essex, the UK and across the World. Presented to coincide with the 21st World Jamboree at Hylands Park.
27 July/8 August: 21st World Scout Jamboree; Brownsea Island; KanderJam, Kandersteg, Switzerland (Scouts + Explorers)
24/27 July + 8/11 August: Home Hospitality (HoHo) - Pre- & Post-World Scout Jamboree
1st August at 8am: Scouting's Sunrise - Linking 28 million Scouts together. Marking the Centenary at the same day and time. An opportunity to share our vision and bring Scouting to the heart of the community whilst giving our members a memorable experience.
24th November: Festival of Scouting - This will be the finale to the Centenary year, a unique and prestigious festival to be held at the O2 Arena (formerly Millennium Dome). The event will feature a cast of up to 2000; selecting quality acts from Scout events taking place all over the Country during 2007. With an audience of over 34,000 over two shows, the event will celebrate the success of 2007 and provide a big thank you to those who supported it.
