Getting To Skreens Park

We are hoping that by arranging transport we will avoid the traditional queues for dropping off at Skreens. A fleet of buses will transport all the young people going to camp. They will leave from Montpelier Farm, Margaretting Road, Writtle, Chelmsford, CM1 3PL (click for Google map) from 5pm onwards on Friday evening. Each group and unit will be allocated a time for arrival at the school. The buses will do the return journey on Sunday following the closing ceremony.

We have also arranged for the Beavers to have transport on Sunday, once again using Montpelier Farm.

The cost of the coaches is covered by the camp fees, but if anyone knows of any company that could help by making a donation we would be very grateful.

Transport Co-ordinator Appointed

Leanne Oscroft (get in touch via the contact page) has kindly agreed to coordinate the coaches, which will shuttle the young people to and from Skreens Park. You will shortly be receiving details of where your Group is to meet and their checking in time.

Will the buses have seatbelts?
Yes, they will have seatbelts.

What will leaders do?
We are hoping that the leaders will meet the young people at Skreens and that the security team will escort them on the buses.

What if parents don't want to use the coach?
No parents cars will be allowed at Skreens until after all the coaches are in at about 8.30pm. Leaders will be allowed on before 8:30.

What about Beaver leaders?
Leaders are welcome to be bussed to Skreens along with the Beavers.

Can I leave my car at St John Payne's?
We are still awaiting confirmation back from the school to whether we can use the site for our 'coach station'. We know for definite that we can't leave any cars overnight, although we have asked if the Beaver Leaders can park there on the Sunday. As soon as we have confirmation we will email the ADC Beavers & GSLs.
